how many guys would be interested in a Sportsman type traveling series. This deal would not be a huge purse like other traveling series. It would not be a long series, maybe 6-8 races and it would not require anyone to leave thier weekly tracks. Finally, this class puts on some great racing wherever they run and the fans really like this class. I have been throwing around a few ideas for this and just wondered what some others might think about it.
This is what I have thought of so far:
Races on: Sundays, so that everyone could still run thier weekly show at thier respective track.
Races at: Kalamazoo, Galesburg, Spartan, Springport, M-40 and Berlin
Purse: $1000.00 to win and $150.00 to start for 24 cars and 50 laps
Tire: Hoosier 880
Rules: would have to look at all tracks rules and come up with a set of rules that, with added or removed weight, would allow cars from all the tracks to be competitive.
I wonder if we could get enough interest from drivers from all the above mentioned tracks to do something like this. It would take some time to put together and not something that could be done this year, but maybe next season. It would also be nice to be able to obtain some sponsors for a points fund, but I bet it would be a pretty good deal if we could get 30 or so committed cars for it.
